Ph.D. Student, Computer Science and Engineering

Hello, I’m Nayan Bhatia, currently pursuing my PhD under the guidance of Professor Katia Obraczka in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. I joined UCSC as a master’s student in the same department and recently transferred to the PhD program. My current research focus. My research revolves around WiFi localization, specifically utilizing WiFi telemetry data to optimize handoff procedures in wireless networks. This involves collecting and analyzing various WiFi metrics such as CSI, RSSI, and FTM data to improve device localization accuracy. Additionally, I’m working on methods to enhance QoS in WiFi networks, considering environmental noise conditions to ensure seamless connectivity in dynamic environments. I’m also exploring optimization techniques to refine the handoff process for improved user experience in WiFi networks. My undergraduate studies were completed in Computer Engineering at K.J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology (KJSIEIT) in Mumbai, India.
